a hidden gem. Birria Don Chuy is a secret, little surprise we found randomly one day. nothing fancy, just tasty. proper pieces of carne asada are rare in my experience - but this place is legit. the food is cheap, fast and delicious and no one knows about this spot. great for a sunday indulgence.

Delicious, authentic birria. The queso in the quesadilla had the most delicious tang. Fried garlic oil was perfection.

This place specializes in birria and pozole. Tender meats in the birria, the usual condiments are on the table and tortillas are freshly made all you want. The rest of the menu items are basically based off these two items. Tasty! If you prefer taco al pastor, there's a good stall just next door.

This a really Mexican place, street food style, the place is not the best when it comes to cleanliness but it is acceptable. The food is really good, the service is what you expect from a place like this. Good relationship between price and quality. I would recommend this place for someone looking for a street food Mexican experience.

I've had birria in Michoacan, Jalisco, Zacatecas, Baja California, Los Angeles to name a few. I've had the "special recipe" of countless moms, grandmothers, tias, madrinas etc etc, but this birria--this birria that is served literally on the sidewalk--is on my top 3 list. And Mexico City is not known for being a birria town. If you're a birria lover, next time you're having shots at Plaza Garibaldi, don't forget to make a pit stop at La Original Birria de Don Chuys; they're open till 3am. Buen Provecho

The best meal I have had so far in Mexico. The Pozole (see image) was super fresh and a fantastic portion. I will be returning!
